Cenk Uygur
Cenk is the CEO and founder of TYT, and co-host of The Young Turks - America's largest online progressive news network and the #1 most engaged news and politics network, generating over 500 million views a month. Cenk also co-founded the Justice Democrats and is the bestselling author of Justice is Coming. He has been repeatedly recognized by Mediaite on their list of Most Influential in News Media. Uygur graduated from the Wharton School of Business at University of Pennsylvania and from Columbia Law School. Cenk has run as a Democratc for Congress and US President and is the first US naturalized citizen and Muslim-American to be on a presidential primary ballot.
Kara Eastman
Kara was the Campaign Manager for Cenk for America and is currently the Community Director for TYT. In 2014, she was publicly elected to the Board of Governors of Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, and in 2018 and 2020, she was the Democratic Nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2nd district of Nebraska. Eastman graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with a Master’s in Social Work. She has been the CEO for Omaha Healthy Kids Alliance in Omaha, Nebraska and for TPAN, Chicago's oldest HIV-focused nonprofit. Kara serves on the board of the AIDS Foundation of Chicago.
Our campaign was part of a movement. A movement for peace. A movement to convince the Democratic party to provide options. A movement to ensure that naturalized citizens have the rights that the 14th amendment grants us.
When we were making spending decisions, we prioritized a civil rights case that made it all the way to the district court in South Carolina. Many invested in that litigation. But there is still work to be done.

When you donate to Cavalry PAC, 50% of your donation will be used to invest in the litigation we started through the presidential campaign. Then the other 50% will go to the PAC’s other goals which include:

Continuing litigation to fight for full equality for naturalized citizens
Helping naturalized citizens who want to run for federal office
Supporting Muslim candidates running for office
